Make no friendship with a man given to anger,
nor go with a wrathful man,
lest you learn his ways and
entangle yourself in a snare.
Proverbs 22:24-25 ESV
Angry People
Is anger always a bad thing? No. There is righteous anger. This is the type of anger that stems from injustices and sinful actions. Things that go against God's word, things that hurt people,...those things should make us angry. However, a person "given to anger" or a "wrathful man" is not having this type of anger.
The type of person the Bible is talking about here is the person who seems to be angry about everything. The slightest thing creates an overly angry response. They snap at everything, or get mad at everything. This type of person seems to feed off of anger and anger is his/her first response to most things. A wrathful person is someone who actually lives in anger. This type of person might have been wronged and cannot move past their anger. The anger actually consumes them and prevents them from living life. They miss out on opportunities, the can't find happiness or joy, all because they are so angry and can't let the anger go.
Creating friendships with these type of people, allowing them to influence your life, will lead to you becoming entangled in their problems and issues. You will find yourself getting angry as well. Your joy will be stolen. Be careful who you allow to influence your life.
WORDS OF WISDOM JOURNAL
If you want to take it further, you can do a Words of Wisdom journal. Simply make categories (you can add a category whenever you want) and put the Bible verses into the appropriate categories. For instance, one category might be "Money." Every time a verse has to do with money, you write it under the category. As time goes on, you will have a journal of wisdom from the Bible organized in an easy to find way.
