Oh my! I laughed so hard at this!! It is sooooooo true! Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” was coopted by customer service agencies/departments! And we ALL know how important that call is to the company, right? Back in the day, our calls were important, but nowadays, forget it. We are just a number.

But oh, when we find a company that actually treats us like we are important, we are loyal to that company unto death! We may even pay MORE in order to support that business just because of their service!

And how true is this of God? Did you know that you, and your concerns, are important to him?

Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Luke 12:6-7

For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:6-8

God loves us. He created us, in his own image! He became flesh, was tortured and then died for us. And he conquered death for us! If that isn’t important, I don’t know what is!  And just in case you think that you are too far gone, or you’ve done too much, or anything like that, God did all of that (even created us) knowing all of that in advance!  That’s right! He created Adam and Eve despite knowing that they would not obey.  Jesus died for ALL sinners, and because he is God, he knew what all the sinners had (or would) do. So you are important!

Not only are you important to him, but God doesn’t have music to put you on hold because he is available to anyone, anytime of the day/night. Let’s face it, you aren’t really important if someone doesn’t have time for you right? That’s why being on hold with customer service is so irritating. But God doesn’t put us on hold. He listens to us whenever and wherever. And it doesn’t matter how many times either. He is always there, ready for us to come to him. We just have to meet up with him!

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 4:16

We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him.

John 9:31

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer.

1 Peter 3:12

Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.

Psalm 139:7-10

You see, unlike the customer service department, God wants to have a relationship with you. He created us to be in relationship with him. When Adam and Eve were created, God walked in the garden with them! Sin has since separated us, but that doesn’t mean that God has abandoned us. No! He has created a way for us to be as close as we can until we are joined with him in heaven. That way is through Jesus. Through Jesus, God the Father is accessible to us all the time. And he isn’t answering the phone with irritation. He is answering the phone with love, meeting us where we need him. We just need to pick up the phone and call him!

  1. Have you spent time with the Lord lately? If not, do so now.
  2. What is troubling you? Have you taken it to God?
  3. God already knows everything we have done/thought, so be honest with him and share what is on your heart, good or bad.
