I am very sad to report that Meriam Ibrahim’s appeal was struck down.  The court upheld her conviction.  Experts believe that after the birth of her second child, next month, she will be executed.

I wrote about it here.

I have contacted International Christian Concern, a non-profit in DC that helps persecuted Christians, and am waiting to hear back about the status of all parties involved.  I hope to get specific details so we, as Christians, can have a time of fasting and praying for her as she faces such a scary time in her life.

Be praying for these things:

1) For Meriam Ibrahim, that she will have strength and peace.  Also, that if God does not deliver her from this death sentence, that He will allow her a speedy and painless death.  Also that she will be able to deliver her baby and the baby be healthy.

2) For Daniel, her husband.  He is losing his wife to execution and his children to the state of Sudan.

3) For their children, that they will understand what has transpired and will grow up to become Christians.

4) Intercession, that if God wills it, He will miraculously deliver Meriam from this execution.

I will keep you updated as I receive more information.  I have also requested that they send me information on what we can do.  Until then, please pray.  Your prayers mean more than anything.  God can do all things.  Let’s rely on Him and pray.

If you feel led to pray, please post your prayer below.  You can do it anonymously if you want.  Hopefully, through the wonders of technology, Meriam and her family may be able to read them.

  1. Lord, be with Meriam as she sits condemned here on earth. We know that she is not condemned for eternity. She will soon join You in Heaven and one day, we will all join with her in praising You. Protect her family. Ease her suffering. Give her Your peace that passes all understanding.
