Discipline is Good

It is so hard to not be hurt or angry when it comes to being disciplined.  None of us like it.  If we are being disciplined consistently, we can get very weary of it and lose our drive to continue. Often, discipline makes us want to quit.

However, discipline is done in order to make us better.  Just like a parent's discipline to a child.  It is done out of love.  Just like we want our kids to grow into responsible adults that love God, the Father wants us to grow spiritually too.  When we discipline our children, we do it out of love so that when they become adults, they are prepared for the world.  God does the same for us.  He disciplines us in order to make us more like Jesus.  The discipline is done out of love.  If he didn't love us, he wouldn't bother to discipline us.  Discipline is an investment into someone.  God is investing in us and wants us to step up and grow.  So don't grow weary when you are being disciplined.  Persevere and grow into the Christian God wants you to be.

If you want to take it further, you can do a Words of Wisdom journal.  Simply make categories (you can add a category whenever you want) and put the Bible verses into the appropriate categories.  For instance, one category might be "Money."  Every time a verse has to do with money, you write it under the category.  As time goes on, you will have a journal of wisdom from the Bible organized in an easy to find way.
