I have few words to express over this.  Alas, it must be done in order to bring to light things that are happening around the world.

I saw information regarding two teenagers being crucified.  Not knowing the source and whether or not it was legitimate, I set out to find the answers.

While no mainstream media in the US is covering this, I did find a recognized writer/journalist who was reporting it (Pamela Gellar). I was also able to go to a Coptic website that regularly reports news within the Coptic church. They were reporting this as well.  I have also been able to uncover news outlets in other areas of the world that are.  Thanks to Google Translate, I was able to translate the webpages from various languages.

However, I was still a little skeptical.  Not being as familiar with foreign news outlets as I am with the US outlets, I wanted to be doubly sure. Then I ran across Vatican Radio.  The start of this story was a nun who gave an interview to Vatican Radio. In this interview she described this crucifixion.

She used to be the head of the Patriarchate School in Damascus and was giving an account of what she saw happen to her community.  The militant group, al-Nusra, would hand out death certificates to people.  They would threaten people if their orders were not obeyed.  She also talks of how Christians were forced to pay tributes to al-Nusra in order to stay alive.

 “They
[the Christians] were punished with such violence and ferocity, words
cannot describe … a son was forced to watch as his father was gunned
down … Islamists decapitated men and played balls with their heads,”she continues.

She goes on to describe an incident where two teenagers were given the choice to renounce Jesus or be crucified like He was. They did not renounce Christ and they were crucified, one in front of his father who was, afterward, shot.

al-Nusra then went on to attack women and children.  Pregnant women had their babies ripped from them and hung on trees by their umbilical cords.

As I took in all this information, having to read and re-read as I had Google translate all these web pages in various languages, I realized that I just had no words to express how I felt.  The verse in the Bible was very literal, even today. In John 15:20 Jesus says “If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you.”  I just didn’t expect to see Christians crucified in my lifetime. We all know what Jesus meant.  But it became ever so real today.

As I was doing my research, trying to find out if this was a hoax or not, I ran across videos.  They are “uncorroborated” by western standards, but those images were very real.  The crowds were so fascinated with the person on the cross.  They were holding up phone to take pictures, talking and laughing,… it was no big deal. And it wasn’t just in Syria.

So, although our western media has not started covering this, I believe it to be true. As much as I want it to be false, I fear that it is true.

UPDATE
4/30 It looks like the issue has hit mainstream media, although not on the front page.  A source from Raqqa has reported crucifixions as late as last week and says that an al Qaeda affiliate uses these tactics on a regular basis. Here is the link to the story. Be advised the image is not suitable for children.
