The blood moons issues sure has taken a lot of attention this year.  And to be honest, I had no idea whether it was legitimate or baloney.  So I started reading up on the issue.
Blood moons are just eclipses that make the moon look red.  I have actually seen one while living in Israel and they are phenomenal.  I wish I had pictures to share with you, but at the time, my photography knowledge was limited and none of the pictures came out (we hadn’t become digital yet).  However, some in the Christian world have taken these blood moons as signs from God.  They have correlated the timing of the eclipses with certain Jewish feasts and other world events.  John Hagee is a big proponent of this with his book “Four Blood Moons.”
So what does all this mean?  God does give us signs.  But is He signalling us now?
I turned to Mark Hitchcock’s book “Blood Moons Rising” to get some answers.  His book walks you step by step into what people are claiming, what the Bible says, and the logical connections between the two.  Then, he leaves you to your own decisions.  I have to say, I was quite impressed.  I won’t ruin the book for you by giving you my conclusions, but I have to say that I feel extremely confident in the conclusions that I came up with.  I am confident because I was able to read about the claims that Hagee (and others) were making, as well as how they came to their conclusions.  Then I could read what the Scriptures say (or don’t say) and come to my conclusions.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who is curious into this blood moon issue.  It is enlightening, an easy and interesting read, and you will come out of it with full knowledge and confidence. A highly recommended book.
